The auto-theft epidemic & community patrols
Your driveway shouldn’t be a showroom for thieves.

- Neighbourhood Patrol Matching Grant. If the system won’t protect us, we will protect each other. Any neighbourhood that organizes and hires a provincially licensed security patrol gets the City matching its cost, up to a set cap per household. It is open to every neighbourhood, from Lorne Park to Malton, through an open list of approved, licensed providers. Every patrol publicly reports incidents and response times, follows a strict code of conduct, and only gets renewed if it delivers.
- Aggressive Youth Intervention. Cut off the gang recruitment pipeline. We will massively fund youth mentorship, sports, and community programs to keep kids out of the hands of organized crime.
- Fighting for Mississauga on the Police Board. I will seek Mississauga’s seat on the Peel Police Service Board. I will also use our votes at Regional Council, where the police budget is approved, to demand a real pivot toward violent crime and auto theft. No budget increase without public, measurable results.
Mandate 02
The construction nightmare
Gridlock. This is what happens when no contractor is ever held to a deadline.
Torn-up roads and endless orange pylons have choked our local businesses and stolen hours from our daily commutes.
- Brutal Penalty Clauses. Every City construction contract will carry compounding penalties for missed deadlines. Contractors who blow their deadlines lose ground in every future City bid. You waste our time, you pay for it.
- Road Occupancy Accountability. Anyone digging up a Mississauga road pays escalating daily fees the moment they pass their approved finish date. When regional roads come under City control in 2027, these same rules will cover them too.
- The Dig Once Policy. No more tearing up the same intersection three times in two years. Utility, water, and transit work must be coordinated before the City issues a single permit.
- Traffic Flow Mandate. Construction permits will only be issued with strict, audited traffic-mitigation plans so our main arteries keep moving.
- Name the Delay. When a provincial project stalls our roads, the City will post signs at the site naming the agency responsible and your MPP’s phone number.
Mandate 03
The math of surviving Mississauga
A full-time job should cover a place to live in this city.

- City Tax Freeze, Paid for at the Top. Zero increase on the City’s share of your residential property tax. It is funded dollar for dollar by cutting senior management and waste, not front-line services. The Region and the Province set the rest of your bill, and I will fight those increases too.
- Value-for-Money Audit. No more automatic tax hikes. Independent auditors will go through the City’s $790 million net operating budget line by line. We aren’t cutting snowplows. We are eliminating redundant senior management, and every dollar we find is published on the Transparency Dashboard.
- The Mississauga Caucus at Peel. Mississauga holds 12 of the 24 elected seats on Regional Council. United, we can block any regional budget that shortchanges our city. I will organize our councillors to vote as one on the police budget and every dollar that stays at Peel.
- Open for Business, Faster. We will cut approval times for employers who bring real jobs to Mississauga. That grows the business tax base and takes pressure off homeowners.
- Build Where the Pipes Already Are. Infrastructure first. Growth goes where our water, sewers, roads, and transit can handle it. Developers who get approvals and sit on empty land will lose their approvals and their servicing capacity under provincial use-it-or-lose-it rules. That capacity goes to projects that will actually build. City fee breaks will go to rental and family-sized homes, not luxury condos.
Mandate 04
Fixing city hall
If a private business ran like Mississauga City Hall, it would be bankrupt in a year.
Weeks wasted waiting on permits and approvals that a working system would clear in days.
- Performance-Driven Leadership. I will use the Mayor’s strong mayor hiring powers to restructure senior management from day one. New executive contracts will tie pay to published service targets. If department heads cannot clear the red tape, we will find leadership that can.
- Customer Service Mandate. City staff work for the residents, not the other way around. We will publish strict wait-time targets for every municipal service and hold management accountable when they miss them.
- 100% Digital, End to End. Every City service that can be online will be online, with live tracking so you always know exactly where your application stands.
- The Transparency Dashboard. A public, plain-language dashboard updated monthly. No more hiding behind 500-page accounting PDFs. You will see exactly where your tax dollars go, down to the cent.
Mandate 05
Mental health & street-level decay
Pushing the homeless and the addicted from one park to another isn’t a strategy. It’s cowardice.
The visible decay of our city isn’t just an economic issue. It is a mental-health crisis the people in charge have never funded at the scale it demands.
- Scale Up Crisis Response. Peel already has a crisis team that emergency services can dispatch, but it needs to be far bigger. Mississauga will fund more crisis workers through city grants, so a mental-health call gets a mental-health response, fast. That frees police to fight violent crime instead of managing public health crises.
- Community Partnerships. We will partner directly with local grassroots organizations and shelters, cutting the red tape so they can provide immediate, on-the-ground addiction and mental-health support.
- Aggressive Provincial Negotiation. We will stop asking nicely and start negotiating fiercely with the Province to secure Mississauga’s fair share of healthcare, mental-health, and addiction funding.
Mandate 06
Culture, nighttime economy & quality of life
Mississauga is not a retirement village, but City Hall still governs it like one.
The youth have nowhere to go, local culture is over-regulated, and our nighttime economy is practically non-existent.
- Ending Blanket Bans. Local lounges are being hit with tens of thousands of dollars in fines while young adults lose their social hubs. We will work with Brampton, Caledon, and Peel Region to replace the blanket waterpipe ban with a strict Specialty Lounge Licence for herbal shisha, with clear ventilation standards, age limits, and real inspections.
- The Midnight Athletics Initiative. We will keep community centres, soccer fields, and basketball courts open and lit until 2:00 AM on weekends. We start at key pilot sites and expand wherever it works. Subsidized, safe, and accessible.
- Street to Strip. Street racing is a safety crisis, but the car community here is massive. We will partner with existing sanctioned drag strips for subsidized legal race nights, and permit organized car shows on private lots. The scene gets out of residential neighbourhoods and onto the track safely.
- Inter-Municipal Recreation. You shouldn’t have to be wealthy to experience life outside the concrete. We will build recreation agreements with neighbouring municipalities to heavily subsidize youth outdoor and wilderness programs.
- Safe Streets for Seniors and Kids. We will put real traffic calming around schools, seniors’ residences, and community centres, with speed humps, raised crosswalks, and safer crossings.
